Born and raised in London, James apprenticed with Roche BoBois in the early 1980s to learn the art and trade of design while developing his own distinctive style.

Lovella Ramirez, Company Secretary and Design Studio Manager
From a very young age architecture and design always fascinated Lovella and they left her with a profound wish to pursue a career in this field.

In 2000 Lovella received her BA in Interior Design. Having entered the Design world in the same year, she quickly began to gain respect for the diversity the design business provided and soon thereafter in 2001 she joined James Charles Design Inc. as project manager. During her tenure with JCD Lovella attained her Masters In Business, graduating 2004, and continued to gain experience in CAD systems and all other aspects of the complicated process that entails the design process.

To date Lovella has over eight years of experience in the design field covering all aspects of the process, both in residential and commercial interior design.

Nick Lee, Director of Marketing & PR
Nick's fifteen years marketing experience includes promoting prestige brands such as Mercedes Benz. However, it was once he began to work with interior designers in 2000 that he found his niche.

From 2000 to 2004 Nick was Head of Marketing & PR for the British Interior Design Association (BIDA). He then left to set up his own marketing and pr consultancy specifically for interior designers.

In January 2008 Nick accepted the role of Head of Marketing & PR for DesignerAtHOME.com.

With eight years marketing interior designers and interior design suppliers Nick brings his world-wide contacts and his collective marketing, brand and PR experience to DesignerAtHOME.com.

Jennifer Sher, Interior Designer

Jennifer Sher Interior Design is a full service contemporary couture design firm founded by lead designer Jennifer Sher, specializing in highly custom luxury residential and restaurant design. After nearly a decade of designing professionally, Ms. Sher has distinguished herself within the industry by creating stylish environments for her clients that are comfortable and inspiring. 

JSID designs not for ego, but for the love of design. Their practice lies in understanding the individual’s desires and translating them to beautiful living spaces.  In doing that they also aim to expand awareness within the world of design. Each client embarks upon a journey of creation and collaboration.  Ultimately, at project completion, the vision has been realized and the clients’ lives have been enhanced qualitatively and aesthetically.

Operating with integrity and adhering to a hallmark of excellent business ethics they have always maintained the belief that good business begins with a strong foundation.  Growth and education are part of that foundation. JSID has a high respect for the craftspeople that make design a reality. They research new materials and applications for each new project to ensure the best possible outcome on many levels. Owing to an architectural background and a slightly purist mentality, Ms. Sher is frequently designing custom installations and furnishings for her clients.

Julia Goodwin, Head of Design Administration
Julia earned a BA in Interior Design at California State University, Chico, graduating with honors.  During her studies, Julia interned with James Charles Design and went on to Kenneth McDonald Designs working in sales, processing orders and assisting in product selection. 

Next came Kaleidoscope Interiors where she has worked with both interior design and model home staging. Julia has also seen numerous freelance projects of her own see completion resulting in spaces that are both varied and memorable.

Upon returning to work with James Charles Design last year, Julia was part of the team that created DesignerAtHOME.com and is now responsible for the management of the studio administration.
