What is DesignerAtHOME.com?

Designer at Home.com is a unique interior design company that offers a revolutionary new way of providing high-quality, yet extremely affordable design services via the Internet.

Led by James Charles, BIDA, IIDA, ASID an award-winning interior designer with more than 25 years of experience, DesignerAtHOME.com's experienced design team provides high-quality design services to our online clients at a fraction of typical interior designer fees.

What types of interior design services do you provide?

We provide room design services. Through our online questionnaire system, we work with you to understand your design needs, then develop and send you a custom ccolor board for each room that includes our paint, fabric, and furniture recommendations, as well as a space plan layout and instructions for the implementation of our designs. Our design recommendations can be implemented within any budget.

How will you design my room or home?

Through our online questionnaire system, we'll work with you to understand your design needs, then develop and send you a unique detailed color board for each room that includes our paint, fabric and furniture recommendations, as well as a space plan layout and instructions for the implementation of our designs. What do you ask in your questionnaire?

We ask questions that will allow us to get to know your style and tastes better. View our Demo Video to learn more about our questionnaire.

What is my role in this process?

You are an integral part of the process. First you'll complete our online questionnaire. Then with our instructions and videos you'll send us room and furniture measurements, as well as room photos. When you receive our completed design you'll just follow our simple instructions to implement the plan. You can then decide on your timetable and budget for your purchases.

How will I know how to implement your design?

We will send you simple instructions for the implementation with resource suggestions along with the color board and space plan layout.

How much do you charge to design a room?

Each room design costs just $299. Discounts are available when ordering two or more rooms.

How can you afford to design a room for only $299?

At DesignerAtHOME.com, we work with you online, and through email and mail. We provide the design, and you provide the measurements and photos, and you'll ultimately implement the plan.

If you hired an onsite interior designer, you could expect to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars in design fees for custom interior design. Those fees are fair – the interior designer will spend many hours with you developing a design and helping you implement the plan.

By combining our design experience, skills and process and together with your assistance (the taking of measurements, photos, and implementation), we're able to provide our interior design service to you for only $299 per room!

Do you offer discounts for multiple rooms?

Yes, we do. Below are our prices for one room and multiple rooms.

Is there a limit to the number of rooms I can have designed?

No. Through our website, we offer design services for from one to seven rooms. But, if you'd like us to design more than seven rooms, email info@designerathome.com.

Can I choose a design style for each room?

Absolutely. You can choose from the following design styles for each room:

Contemporary
French Country
Shabby Chic
Eclectic

What do you define as a room?

We define a room as follows:

living room (alone)
family room (without kitchen)
den
master bedroom
kid's bedroom
teen's bedroom
guest bedroom
nursery
dining room (alone)
media room (home theater)

Are there rooms you don't design?

At this time, we don't design kitchens, bathrooms, libraries, or home offices.

How do I pay for your interior design service?

First, choose the number of rooms you would like designed and pay via PayPal. You may order here.

What happens after I've paid?

PayPal will process your payment and direct you to a PayPal confirmation page. On that page, click on 'Return to DesignerAtHOME.com' to go to a 'Questionnaire' page where you will complete a questionnaire and press "Submit." Your completed questionnaire will be emailed to us and you will be immediately taken to a page that includes all of your responses. Print out the page for your records.
On the same page, click on 'Next steps' which will link to 'How to take measurements of your room,' 'How to take measurements of your furniture,' 'How to take photos of your room' and 'Where to mail your materials.' Simply follow the instructions or videos for each step.

How long will it take to get my completed design?

Within three weeks of receiving the measurements and photos from you, you will receive your individually designed color board for each room ordered that includes our paint, fabric and furniture recommendations as well as a space plan layout and instructions for the implementation of our designs.

Will I have to spend a lot of money when I implement your design plan?

Absolutely not! Our design recommendations are flexible and are merely a guideline for you to create a co-ordinated room scheme. Recommended fabrics and furniture, for example, can be substituted with less expensive more more expensive options to suit your budget.

How can I purchase your design services for family or friends?

It's easy! Just go to Gift Certificates and purchase a gift certificate for the design service of your choice. You can then send your gift certificate via email or print it out and send it via mail or deliver in person. All gift certificates are purchased and redeemed via PayPal.

Are your clients pleased with your design services?

We have received many letters and emails from satisfied clients. But don't take our word for it, just read some of our client testimonials to see how pleased our clients are.

How do you ensure that I am 100% satisfied?

We provide you with professional, high-quality designs, based on your questionnaire responses, measurements, and photos we receive from you.

Since you will then implement the design, your complete satisfaction will be ultimately driven by the success of your implementation and your choice of materials. Whether you opt for an inexpensive or an expensive option, the final design will be cohesive and co-ordinated.
