There are a lot of cheap decorating ideas that can make your home look like a million dollars. For example, take out the photos from your old albums and make photo boards of your children, holidays, and special events. Frame the photo boards and hang them. They're attractive, inexpensive ways of giving your home that special, personal touch.

Budget decorating doesn't have to look cheap. Keep it simple and clean-lined, or keep it funky. Simple clean lines naturally look expensive, and we associate clean lines with a more modern and expensive look.

It's not hard to create a bedroom makeover. One way is to simply repaint the walls. This will give your bedroom walls a face lift and will lighten up, and completely renew the look of the bedroom This is a great opportunity to add some spice to your old, dull, and boring bedroom. Choose your favorite color to add warmth to your bedroom.

When you're decorating a teenager bedroom, think about a theme-based design. Talk to the teen about his or her hobbies and incorporate the ideas into the total design of the room. The main goal is to make it a bedroom the teen feels comfortable living in.

When decorating a nursery, be sure to check out the angles that the sun comes in at different times of day. Don't put the crib in a spot that gets direct sunlight in the morning, or in a spot that a streetlight shines on all night.

Before designing and decorating rooms, make sure you have a particular decorating style in mind, and decide on a color scheme and budget. This will save you a lot of time and trouble later on in the process.

When you are painting a room, don't use dark colors on walls of a small room.  It can make your room look a lot smaller. If you want white walls, use off white instead to add a hint of color.

Use accent colors on walls and fabric.  For instance, if the color scheme is beige/tan, throw in some vibrant red or harmonious blue for a touch of color.
